About Me
An award winning screenplay writer and published short story writer, Natasha Le Petit has a passion for thrillers, horrors, and crime.
With a Bachelors degree in Communications from UTS, Sydney (majoring in Advanced Screenplay Writing) she studied writing for television at Australia Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS).
Prior to launching her screenwriting career, she worked at the Sydney Film Festival and Screen Australia (then known as Film Australia).
After placing the top 3x in the Big Break International screenplay competition, her thriller feature screenplay, The Undertaker’s Children, attracted the attention of a number of producers. She is now entering pre-production with Emmy award-winning producer, Alex Gayner (Beef, American Primeval, The Mosquito Coast).
Achievements
In April 2024 she won the WIFT Cannes Catalyst Pitch comp and became a mentor for emerging writers as part of the ElevateUs mentorship program. She also served as an adjudicator for the Create Short Film competition, Wollongong 2025.
Her latest projects have been working with Camelot Films adapting the true crime novel ‘The Tangled Web - The Life and Death of Richard Cain’. She was also the Script Supervisor on The Lost Book of Creation and the short film, Sisterhood.
Most recently she was commissioned to write the horror feature, Slay, for Riise productions and is currently writing a horror feature, The Submerged for Undertow Content.
In 2026, she was nominated for her short film Fence for the Los Angeles Crime and Horror Film Festival.
